#IAMPP Leadership Academy

Established in November 2012, the PurposefullyPretty organization has helped young women overcome societal and media fueled insecurities by hosting purpose identifying workshops and events. We have promoted the idea that “a pretty face with nothing to back it up is null and void”. This motto encourages young women to focus more on what’s on the inside, rather than  focusing solely on their outward appearance and how they are viewed by others. In addition, PurposefullyPretty seeks to enlighten and help young women deal with challenges that they may face while in pursuit of their purpose and on a day-to-day basis. Some of these challenges include peer pressure, self-love, having and owning their voice, staying focused on their goals, having the confidence to follow their dreams, establishing and maintaining healthy relationships and knowing that they are enough.

From July 22 -July 26 2019, PurposefullyPretty plans to give 10 young women of color an intimate PurposefullyPretty experience; helping them identify their purpose and equipping them with the tools and resources that they need in order to become the next generation of movers, shakers and leaders in their perspective communities. In these 5 days, young women will have the opportunity to attend workshops and panel discussions lead by influential female leaders of color. They will have the opportunity to participate in empowerment circles, meaningful trips and purpose-identifying workshops. Additionally, on the first day of the program young women will be required to brainstorm a project, event or initiative to be presented on the last day of the program. Purposefully Inc. will support the young women in executing these projects. The #IAmPP Leadership Academy’s main goal is to invest and impart into the next generation, so that they can be inspired to be the change that they want to see in the world.
